A Star is Born
Since moving away from her parents aged 14 to pursue her passion for dance, Benedicte Bemet has maintained laser focus, dedication and discipline. This series of images was captured during her early days, when discussion about her expected trajectory was ever present. She is now a principal artist with The Australian Ballet.

A Beauty Entrepreneur
Here, beauty entrepreneur Gemma Watts is photographed in the late afternoon light at Studley Park for Mercedes Benz Magazine. Being late Friday resulted in me having to hang on to the car for the weekend, which was only a minor inconvenience.

Bio Tech
Since its inception in 1916, CSL has grown into a global biotech leader. It’s been fascinating to catch a glimpse of a world-leading operation over many years. From wearing PPE and proceeding through air lockers to record the laboratory technicians, to photographing its CEO and Executive Team, we’ve enjoyed every minute. Good inspiration for neat freaks too.

Factory Settings
As a teenager, I worked in factories intending to land an apprenticeship, but I became distracted by music, among other things. I found myself on the factory floor again when I created an image library for Fair Work Australia. I also managed to join them for smoko too.

Hackathon
Fuelled with sugar, technical smarts and a good deal of enthusiasm, SEEK’s bi-annual Hackathons give employees the freedom to learn and experiment with new technologies and practice high-paced collaboration with small, self-organised teams. The Hackathon is a highlight for SEEK employees, for obvious reasons.

Seeking a Cure
I'm in quiet admiration of the team at ONJCRI (Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute) as I delicately moved about the laboratories. Very few medical research institutes manage to achieve the critical mix of scientists, doctors, students, patients and families, all collaborating to make a difference to cancer care.

Sun Powered
Commissioned by Energy Australia, I spent the afternoon with a jovial group of predominately Irish tradies, whose physical agility was matched by their constant joking. Some of the men had worked together in Ireland, and their banter and ribbing of one another clearly showed long and affectionate friendships. I felt like part of the team.

The Relocation
This suite of images was to create an image library for Energy Australia. Over 4 days we photographed a variety of situations in a range of locations with young couples, retirees and families. In this kind scenario, we set up a scene, provide some guidance for the talent and then observe and capture moments. Cam. - struggling with scene, scenario, situation - help!

Michael Drescher from DKO approached me to provide imagery of Melbourne suitable for the interiors of The Marriott Docklands. This is a selection from the archive.

A Tiny Sting
As a world leader in influenza protection, Seqirus has one of the broadest influenza vaccine portfolios in the world. This series of portraits was commissioned to promote vaccination as part of a global image library for Seqirus. This was just before the pandemic and on reflection, the images take on a whole new meaning.
